Amanda Bossard, fresh out from Anchorage High School, in the year 1992, began studying marine biology. Bossard launched her professional career in the field of commercial fish worker in the year 1999. She began to work at the vessel F/V Sunset which was a 65' halibut schooner and was later converted into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan, who worked in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard who is the wife of Aritan she has joined forces in order to claim their respective industries. They are supporters of conservative and sustainable renewable resource management. Otolith launched its direct market wholesale distributor in Philadelphia after Bossard returned from living back at home with her daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1year old, and Andre 1, to Philadelphia. In 2007, Bossard, mother to two kids Bella, age 3, and Andre 1. She returned to Philadelphia from her home in Canada opened otolith as a direct market wholesale seafood distributor. Bossard along with Isabella and Andre (ages 12, 10 respectively) return each year, starting in July 2016 in Southeast Alaska for the summer catch from wild salmon. They use hooks and line to capture their salmon and then join Aritan to sell to local processors for two months.
